Oven to Air Guide

Bagel Bites in the Air Fryer

By Updated Last reviewed How we calculate

Cook frozen Bagel Bites in the air fryer at 375°F (190°C) for 6–8 minutes, in a single layer, until the cheese is melted and bubbling. Typical oven directions are about 425°F for 13 minutes; check your box.

Why this differs from the standard conversion

The standard oven to air fryer rule would turn 425°F for 13 minutes into 400°F for 10 minutes. Bagel Bites are tiny and the cheese sits right under the airflow, so it melts and browns well before the general rule’s time. A lower temperature keeps the cheese from scorching before the bagel is hot.

Step by step

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Arrange the frozen Bagel Bites in a single layer, topping side up.
  3. Air fry for 6–8 minutes until the cheese bubbles.
  4. Cool for a minute before eating.

How to tell it’s done

Leftovers and pre-cooked foods should be reheated to 165°F (74°C). Check with an instant-read thermometer in the thickest part; see theFoodSafety.gov safe minimum temperature chart.

Tips

  • Very light toppings can blow around; a few pieces packed close together stay put.
  • Want a crisper base? Cook 2 minutes upside down first, then flip.
  • Work in batches; overlapping pieces stay cold in the middle.

Different box or recipe?

Package and recipe directions vary. Enter the oven temperature and time from yours and the calculator converts them with the standard rule. For this food, treat its result as an upper limit and check from the time given above.

Accuracy and limitations

These times are starting points built from typical oven directions, converted with the same rules as the calculator. They are not lab measurements, and your food and appliance will differ.

  • Appliances vary. Wattage, basket size and how close the element sits to the food change cooking speed. That’s why every result includes a “check at” time.
  • Load matters. A full or stacked basket cooks more slowly than a single layer.
  • Temperature limits. Many basket air fryers stop at 400°F (200°C). Converted settings above that are flagged.
  • Poor fits for any formula: wet batters, delicate cakes, low-and-slow recipes and roasts over an hour. Use a thermometer and expect to adjust.
  • Food safety comes from internal temperature, not time. Check meat, poultry, seafood and leftovers against the USDA safe minimum temperatures.
  • Packaging wins. If your box prints air fryer directions, follow them.
