About Oven to Air Guide
Oven to Air Guide is a small, free set of calculators for converting recipes between conventional ovens, convection ovens, toaster ovens and air fryers. It is written and maintained by Anoy.
Most recipes are still written for a conventional oven, and most online converters apply one flat rule without explaining it. This site shows its working on every result, supports Fahrenheit and Celsius equally, and warns you when a converted temperature is higher than many air fryers can reach.
How the conversions work
- Conventional oven to air fryer: minus 25°F, or minus 15°C, rounded to the nearest 5 degrees. Time × 0.8 by default, from × 0.75 for thin, crispy foods to × 0.85 for thick meat and bakes.
- Air fryer to conventional oven: plus 25°F (15°C), time × 1.25.
- Convection oven and air fryer: same temperature; time × 0.9 into the air fryer, × 1.1 back out.
- Check-at time: 75% of the original oven time, because air fryers vary by model and basket load.
These are starting points, not guarantees. Food safety depends on internal temperature, so we point to the USDA safe minimum internal temperatures rather than time alone.
